China GU2-10/20/40 Series Surge Protector Manufacturers, Factory

GU2-10/20/40 surge protection device (hereinafter referred to as the "protector") for AC 50/60 Hz, 400V and below the TN-S, TN- C, TN-C-S, TT, IT power supply system, the power grid caused by lightning or surge voltage protection.

Product Description

Purpose and scope of use

GU2-10/20/40 surge protector (hereinafter referred to as "protector") is a device specially designed to protect electrical equipment from lightning strikes or surge overvoltages in the power grid. The protector is suitable for a variety of power supply systems with an AC frequency of 50/60Hz and a rated voltage of 400V and below, including different types of power systems such as TN-S, TN-C, TN-CS, TT and IT.
In modern society, the stability and safety of the power system are of vital importance, especially in areas where lightning occurs frequently, the role of surge protectors is particularly important. Lightning strikes or other external factors may cause instantaneous high voltages in the power grid. This overvoltage will not only cause direct damage to electrical equipment, but may also lead to serious consequences such as equipment failure, data loss or system shutdown. Therefore, the GU2-10/20/40 protector ensures the normal operation and safety of electrical equipment by effectively absorbing and dispersing these overvoltages.
The design of the GU2-10/20/40 protector takes into account the characteristics of various power supply systems and can flexibly adapt to different application scenarios. Whether in industrial, commercial or home environments, the protector can provide reliable surge protection, extend the service life of equipment and reduce maintenance costs. At the same time, the installation and maintenance of the protector are relatively simple. Users can choose the appropriate model according to their specific needs to achieve the best protection effect.
GU2-10/20/40 surge protector is an important device to ensure the safety of power system. It can effectively prevent various electrical faults caused by lightning strikes or surge overvoltage, and provide users with a safe and stable power environment.

Model description

Failure release device

The module of the protector is equipped with a failure release device. When the protector fails due to overheating and breakdown, the failure release device can automatically disconnect it from the power grid and provide an indication signal. When the protector is normal, the label displays green, and after failure and detachment, the label displays red.

Installation location and application

Installation location and application
Installed in the LPZ1 or LPZ2 area and LPZ3 area at the junction, protection class II.
Protective device using standard 35mm track installation.
Protector adopts a copper wire connected to the 2.5-35mm², there are two kinds of wiring method.
(1) From the power supply switch wiring to the protector, and the protector line to the load side. This method is suitable for load distribution box electric current below 100A. The use of wire section should be selected according to the load current (see Figure 1).
(2) From the power supply switch wiring to the protector, also from the line to load side power switch. This applies to the load current is more than 100A power distribution box. Connected to the protective conductor cross section is not affected by the load of electricity, but the length shall not exceed 500mm (see Figure 2). The grounding wire should be used more than 4mm² of dual color wire length, shall not exceed 500mm. In order to prevent the surge protection device failure affects the normal operation of power grid, protection on the L line should string fuse are connected with a 25A.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What types of power systems is the GU2 surge protector compatible with?
The GU2-10/20/40 protector is suitable for AC frequency systems of 50/60Hz, with a rated voltage of 400V and below. It is fully compatible with TN-S, TN-C, TN-CS, TT, and IT power systems.
How does the failure release device indicate the status of the protector?
The device features a color-coded status indicator on the label. Under normal operating conditions, the label displays green. If the protector fails due to overheating or breakdown, the failure release device automatically disconnects it from the grid, and the label changes to red.
What are the recommended wiring methods based on load current?
For load distribution boxes under 100A, the wire is run from the power switch to the protector, and then to the load side. For systems exceeding 100A, the protector is connected in parallel, branching from the switch directly, with a conductor length not exceeding 500mm.
What is the response time and protection grade of the GU2 protector?
The protector features a rapid response time of less than 25 nanoseconds (ns) and carries an IP20 protection grade rating.
Can the maximum continuous working voltage (Uc) parameter be customized?
Yes, the maximum continuous working voltage (Uc) can be fully customized to meet specific application requirements.
How is the protector physically installed?
The surge protector is designed for convenient installation utilizing a standard 35mm DIN rail track, using a copper wire connection ranging from 2.5mm² to 35mm².
